The Queen's Tuesday Meme #11 ~ The Loud and Raucous Poetry Meme (Not)

Welcome to The Queen's Meme #11.
A Tuesday meme
Sometimes silly. Sometimes serious. Always fun!
Step out of the box. Be creative. Use your imagination.
No one's answers are quite like yours.

And please, stay out of the dungeon.
You don't want to go there.

This week the questions are sheer poetry. Nonsensical. Cerebral. Challenging.
The answers should be too.
I have given you seven familiar limericks. Your job is to change them by filling in the blanks. Here's an example of a limerick.

There was an Old Man in a tree,
Who was horribly bored by a Bee;
When they said, 'Does it
buzz?'
He replied, 'Yes, it does!'
'It's a regular brute of a
Bee!'

Lines 1, 2 & 5 rhyme. Lines 3 & 4 rhyme. You can use more than one word to fill the blank but the end words must rhyme appropriately. Now fill in the blanks with the limericks I've given you. Don't think about them too much. Usually the first word that pops in your head can be used to make a very funny poem. Try it!

1.There was an Old Man of ______,
Who lived upon ____________;
When that did not ______,
He took __________,
That nasty Old Man of _______.

2. There was a Young Lady whose _____,
Were unique as to color and___________;
When she opened them ______,
People all turned _______,
And started away in _________

3. There was a Young Lady of ______,
Who casually sat on a ________;
When the door squeezed her ______,
She exclaimed, '________?'
This courageous Young Lady of ________.

4.There was an Old Man with a _____,
Who bumped at it ________;
But they called out, '______!
You're a horrid old _____!'
So they smashed that Old Man with a ______.

5. There was a Young Lady whose ______,
Came untied when the birds sate _______;
But she said: 'I don't care!
All the birds in the ______
Are welcome to sit on my _______!'

6. There was an Old Man of ______,
Who never knew what he should _____;
So he tore off his _____,
And behaved like a ______,
That intrinsic Old Man of _____.

7. There was an Old Man of _______,
Who had the most curious ________;
For while he was ______,
He slept on a _______.
That funny Old Man of _______.

Original limericks are HERE. Don't peek 'til you've finished or it's you-know-where for the likes of you.

If I were you, I'd do the meme.

3. There was a Young Lady of Saskatoon,
Who casually sat on a water balloon;
When the door squeezed her tushy,
She exclaimed, 'why is it so mushy?'
This courageous Young Lady of Saskatoon.

6. There was an Old Man of Peru,
Who never knew what he should do;
So he tore off his hat,

That intrinsic Old Man of Peru.

I am finished. I t'will admit,my Queen, I did not like this one. I doth not look kindly on rhyming. Words are meant to be used freely. I doth not enjoy being put in a box of limits, but neither do I desire to be thrown in that horrid dungeon...

LadyHighTower - To each his own. I also love the freedom of words. I wanted to try something different. I enjoyed the challenge.

Thank you for completing and playing. I'll be right over.
Oh..the dungeon. Yeah. It's horrid.
Whew! That was a close one!

Jean-Luc - It was brilliant!

Dawn - Love it! She returns to make a limerick! Both are excellent. Saskatoon? Very creative. Who would have thought you could rhyme Saskatoon?!

I was asked to tell you this.

Sent in by Mr. Anonymous -
There was an Old Man in the morning
Who had the most curious snoring
For while he was drunk
He slept on a bunk
That funny Old Man was quite boring

and

There was an Old Man of repute
Who lived upon ill-gotten loot
When that did not pay
He took off one fine day
That nasty Old Man of repute
