Welcome to The Queen's Meme #11.
A Tuesday meme
Sometimes silly. Sometimes serious. Always fun!
Step out of the box. Be creative. Use your imagination.
No one's answers are quite like yours.
And please, stay out of the dungeon.
You don't want to go there.
This week the questions are sheer poetry. Nonsensical. Cerebral. Challenging. The answers should be too.
I have given you seven familiar limericks. Your job is to change them by filling in the blanks. Here's an example of a limerick.
Who was horribly bored by a Bee;
When they said, 'Does it buzz?'
He replied, 'Yes, it does!'
'It's a regular brute of a Bee!'
Lines 1, 2 & 5 rhyme. Lines 3 & 4 rhyme. You can use more than one word to fill the blank but the end words must rhyme appropriately. Now fill in the blanks with the limericks I've given you. Don't think about them too much. Usually the first word that pops in your head can be used to make a very funny poem. Try it!
1.There was an Old Man of ______,
Who lived upon ____________;
When that did not ______,
He took __________,
That nasty Old Man of _______.
2. There was a Young Lady whose _____,

This one wasn't easy, but I managed it...it's in my Meme Holodeck.
Just stopped by to say hi... and I couldn't resist a try... ha ha!
3. There was a Young Lady of Saskatoon,
Who casually sat on a water balloon;
When the door squeezed her tushy,
She exclaimed, 'why is it so mushy?'
This courageous Young Lady of Saskatoon.
6. There was an Old Man of Peru,
Who never knew what he should do;
So he tore off his hat,
And behaved like a brat,
That intrinsic Old Man of Peru.
I am finished. I t'will admit,my Queen, I did not like this one. I doth not look kindly on rhyming. Words are meant to be used freely. I doth not enjoy being put in a box of limits, but neither do I desire to be thrown in that horrid dungeon...
LadyHighTower - To each his own. I also love the freedom of words. I wanted to try something different. I enjoyed the challenge.
Thank you for completing and playing. I'll be right over.
Oh..the dungeon. Yeah. It's horrid.
Whew! That was a close one!
Jean-Luc - It was brilliant!
Dawn - Love it! She returns to make a limerick! Both are excellent. Saskatoon? Very creative. Who would have thought you could rhyme Saskatoon?!
Mr. Lance must sit this one out...
I was asked to tell you this.
Ashy - Okay......

There was an Old Man in the morning
Who had the most curious snoring
For while he was drunk
He slept on a bunk
That funny Old Man was quite boring
and
There was an Old Man of repute
Who lived upon ill-gotten loot
When that did not pay
He took off one fine day
That nasty Old Man of repute
